What Is Your Passion?

What is passion? Dictionary definitions include "a powerful emotion, such as love, joy, hatred, or anger; ardent love; strong sexual desire; lust; the object of such love or desire; boundless enthusiasm or the object of such enthusiasm; an abandoned display of emotion, especially of anger", and so on.

This article is about passion in the sense of powerfully focused emotion/enthusiasm. Your passions can be an excellent indicator of what you are here to do. Before coming to this planet, we agreed to a separation from our eternal selves, so that part can only speak to us through our emotions, saying "yes, that one" or "no, not this way". The more passionate you are on a certain topic, the more likely it is to be part of what you are here to do. The following questions will help you identify your passions:

What do you LOVE
What do you KNOW
What do you DESIRE
What do you EXCEL AT
What do you FOCUS ON
What do you SEE that others don't?
What do you need to INTEGRATE? That means getting your system lined up with what you want, on all levels.

These seven are the components of PASSION. So let's look at them:

What do you LOVE? When you love someone or something, then you automatically see the best in that person or topic, and willingly lend yourself to its care and support. This opens up your faculties for compassion and light. You are more naturally light-hearted and enlightened about those things you love, and this increases your desire and ability to learn about that person or subject. Remember when you were in love? And how you wanted to know everything about your beloved? Well, some people feel the same about medicine, design, or engineering: it's endlessly fascinating if that is the object of your love. Well, if that topic is part of your blueprint, you will have a similar enduring fascination. So what you love is going to be part of what you are here to do. In fact, learning to love is one of our required courses during this lifetime.

What do you KNOW? Your inner blueprint is always going to combine your previous experiences and types of training, no matter how diverse. Whatever you did and learned in the past adds to your unique skill set and perspective, both of which can be used in the service of your divine blueprint once you are in alignment.

What do you DESIRE? What do you lean in to? What do you feel the lack of when it's absent, and enjoy when it reappears? Contrary to some religious positions that distrust desire, or see it as the root of all suffering, I believe that desire is your firmest connection between your higher self and your human self, between the seen and unseen fields. Through desire, your eternal self is attempting to guide you using your emotions. When you have expanded feelings, it means "go here - do this!" Contracted or negative feelings mean "not this one". So you can use your desire nature to find out what you are here to engage with. Usually your desires are positive, and bring you joy or pleasure. Of course, sometimes the lesson is "don't do this again!"

What do you EXCEL AT? If you are designed to do something specific, you will naturally have the resources to fulfill your assignment. You come fully loaded with the talents and programs you require to thrive! So many people think they should do this or that, then look at how they can train as an accountant, doctor, architect, or whatever. They think about what might work for them, rather than asking what their inner blueprint calls for. People who go the conventional route tend to get burnt out by their 40s, because the work they do is out of alignment for their lives. It's so much more efficient and enjoyable to listen within and find out what programs you already have, and what you require to polish that up and express it. Mozart had a innate genius for composition; he just needed to practice the piano, and fortunately was born to a father who taught keyboards. Now, that's the way to learn excellence!

What do you FOCUS ON? By universal law, what you focus on expands in your life. You always focus on what's important to you, for good or ill. Some people appear to relish suffering, martyrdom, poverty and depression - at least they stay focused on stress or pain. Your focus says a lot about what your Spirit finds important. One person devotes a lot of time to staying fit and healthy; another speaks/writes/thinks about spiritual issues all the time. Yet another is fascinated by numbers and spends all her time on mathematics and physics. Someone else loves order, and becomes an accountant (as well as keeping a tidy home and having a haircut every month). Your focus shows up everywhere in your life, not just your profession, though of course, it's best to have a profession that uses your natural focus! Fortunately it's usually easy to identify your natural focus, because (of course) you'll be spending a lot of time doing whatever that is.

What do you SEE that others don't see? This identifies your area of service, and thus what you are passionate about. Serving humanity, the planet, and God (however you think of God) is about seeing problems and creating wonderful solutions that restore, improve or create better conditions for everyone. In order to solve a problem, you have to see that there is a problem. The more precisely and clearly you see a particular problem, the more likely it is that you are part of the solution, and the greater passion you will have for solving it. We each have a unique vision of the world, and we can use that to help co-create heaven on earth. This applies equally to the negative (situations that are out of whack) and positive (your vision of how great and wonderful things could be). Your vision will indicate your unique contribution to rebuilding the world.

What do you need to INTEGRATE? Most of us have issues that need to be resolved, and goals that need to be integrated so that we can get back in alignment with who we truly are. Integration means bringing your goals into harmony with your field so that what you desire becomes possible for you. A goal is anything you want that you don't have yet. Most people don't attain their goals because they have contamination's to their bio-computers that are blocking their system; when those contamination's are cleared, many things become possible that were not possible before. The most effective way to to integrate your goals is using Geotran human programming, because Geotran integrations are designed to get you back in alignment with your divine self. Setting your goals helps you to see who you are and what you truly want, and integrating them resets your alignment - so it's a double treat!

So what are you passionate about? Where does your enthusiasm show itself most strongly? That is the single most important indicator of what you are here to do. The fortunate ones have such strong passions that they know immediately what path to take. Most of us have to work at it a bit, because everyone has pressure from their family, culture or society, and that can be distracting until you learn that being who you are is the most important thing you in life.

So, although detachment is required for mastery, and that makes many masters look unemotional, detachment does NOT diminish your passions. Rather, detachment gives you a sense of proportion, so that you can channel your passions in the best and most obedient way. With detachment, you can balance obedience and your passions in the service of your divine assignment here on planet earth. Without passion, you don't have a direction or assignments to focus on. So cherish your passions, have fun with them, give them free rein, and allow them to direct you in line with what you're here to do!

5 Mental Adjustments To Improve Your Wealth

Need an attitude check? Is your head in the game? Where's your focus? What are you doing out there? As we go into March Madness, these are the questions a coach may ask his team--or I may ask a client! But I would also add another--how are you getting to a healthier state of mind in order to make your business wealthier?

In our Business Value Drivers (BVD) studies, we have found that 67% of entrepreneurs say are in business because they want to make more money and become financially independent. However, according to the Small Business Administration, less than 5% of small businesses have more than $1 million in annual revenue. The truth is that very few actually build any wealth or value from their businesses either.

If you've conducted a reality check lately, you may have admitted, at least to yourself, that your focus is not where it should be. Maybe you are experiencing a little burnout, or just need a vacation. Yet still, you have the drive and desire to build your business and build your wealth. Ultimately, it's all in your mind, attitude, motivation and vision of the future. It's realistic to admit, however, that we all get tired.

You don't have to do everything alone!

The value of having good reading materials, colleague support, encourager's and the right team of advisers will greatly enhance the value of your business and your ultimate wealth. Consider Eric Sbarge, creator and owner of the Peaceful Dragon.

Eric started the Peaceful Dragon with his wife Debra in 1997. Sbarge was a high school teacher when he first started, running his business on a part-time basis, until the revenue became enough to support the family. After ten years, he began to to work with an industry marketing expert, and in 2006 asked me to work with him in building a foundation toward wealth creation.

With a focus on the Peaceful Dragon mission "to enhance the lives of our students and members of our community by teaching traditional and authentic Chinese health and martial arts, and supporting the marriage of Eastern and Western approaches to health and well-being," today, The Peaceful Dragon ranks in the top 1% in its industry and was featured in Martial Arts Professional Magazine April 2008.

"It's all about where your head is," agrees Sbarge. He went on to share with us Five Mindset Changes to Get Healthy and Wealthy:

1. Have a millionaire mindset. Many people want to be a millionaire and want their businesses to break the million-dollar revenue mark. This means you must build business equity. Your business equity value is not the same as your revenue. Unless you intentionally build your business to a fair market value of a million dollars, you won't make it to that million mark or build any kind of wealth.

2. Have a mentor from your specific industry. As a business owner, your mentor should be a person who has successfully been through the start-up and exit phases of a business. This person will help guide you through what it takes to become a success and build wealth. Sbarge has been working with an industry mentor since 2004.

3. Have a mentor outside your industry. The best business owners learn from the best business owners--including insights and advice you can't get from an MBA program. A mentor who is successful in business is equipped in ways an academic program cannot replicate, such as real life experience. Sbarge has two mentors outside his industry.

4. Put a consistent marketing process in place. Most businesses fail to create a marketing plan or strategy in order to weigh tactics against. Sbarge developed his own marketing process internally and set an annual budget and performance monitoring of all marketing tactics. He has followed a marketing plan consistently, adjusting as needed against industry trends, market changes and economic conditions.

5. Build wealth by building value in your business. Sbarge has carefully built additional value inside and outside the business. They own their commercial property needed for this type of brick and mortar business, as well as having built a solid company foundation through processes and vision.

March Madness is a good name for the upcoming NCAA round of tournaments.  Eric Sbarge's business name--Peaceful Dragon--is somewhat the antithesis of the craziness surrounding the players and the fans. Don't let your business drive you crazy. Focus, breathe, have a vision and then--get your head in the game!

Ask yourself "where your focus is--and where you want it to be?"

Attitude is Everything

Attitude can be defined as the way an individual looks at life. It is the outward reflection of what is taking place on the inside. It becomes his/her personality...it pervades their feelings and becomes their actions. Attitude is one of the most important aspects of life and a key to interpersonal relationships. There are two types of relationships in animal (or human) life, symbiotic and parasitic. Symbiotic relationships are mutually beneficial. Both of the animals (or organisms) involved receive a benefit from the other living with them.

Parasitic, on the other hand, is a destructive relationship where one benefits to the detriment of the other. When trying to accomplish something new, or break old habits in life, we need to associate ourselves with others who bring us up, those that help us become more than we were without them. Creating symbiotic relationships will only accelerate our progress. Attitude is key in tough situations; the better your attitude is in tough times, the better those opportunities become.

An oft-quoted cliché illustrates this point: "Most people are as happy as they want to be". There are very few, if any, easy roads to take on the road to success. Bumps and potholes, construction and traffic jams will constantly confront the typical person. The difference comes in how well the person can handle these difficulties. Shakespeare wrote: "There is nothing good or bad, but thinking makes it so". Attitude leans heavily on thoughts, and the harder things seem in the mind, the more difficult they will be in reality. It is imperative that everyone makes themselves as happy as they can be, and forsake the negative thinking disposition, and become forward thinking individuals.

Attitude, like the common cold, is contagious. The more negative people that there are in a room, the more negative the conversation will become. The inverse is also true. Think about Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. in the face of hatred, death threats, trials, and persecution he pronounced, "I have a dream". His dream was for the future. It was positive. Many people looked at his attitude and proclaimed that he was a dreamer, and that he was crazy. However, to the masses who followed him, his dream became one that penetrated skin color and pierced the hearts of thousands. About half a century later, no one can look back and say that he was not effective.

He sold millions in the future generations on his "dream"...what he really sold was a contagious positive attitude. It has been said by a well-known motivator, "It's your Attitude rather than you're your Aptitude that ultimately determines your Altitude". Very simple, you can become what you put your mind to. In all the studies done there is no evidence to say your knowledge or ability will give you the upper hand. The key to success is positive attitudes. There are many people with minimal abilities achieving greater heights than people with far greater knowledge or learning. Attitude has been called the spiraling effect.

This is the effect "like minded" people have on each other. It's been said; "Birds of a feather flock together". It can work both in the positive and the negative directions. If you have ever been in an environment where people hated their jobs and talked bad about their employer then you know how that can affect attitude. It can feel like a thousand pound weight weighing you down. On the flip side, groups of very successful people create more wealth for each other, as their positive attitudes create a form of synergy. In contrast the other group creates a negative synergy and the group becomes much less effective. It's the old saying the poor get poorer and the rich get richer. I believe they do it because of their own attitudes.
